I was a quiet kid from a big family.  As the last of six kids, I never had to say much nor did I have to figure much out.  My sisters paved the way for me.  Even though we were pretty poor, it was all good until it wasn’t.  During my first year in middle school I figured out I had some type of attention issue.  I never told anyone, (I didn’t really know how or what it was until much later).  I just tried several strategies to manage my inability to focus.  

Unfortunately, my attempts, (tapping on my desk, bouncing my foot, reading quietly aloud), were annoying to my classmates.  When publicly questioned or called out about my behavior, I made some type of joke to deflect the attention.  As a result, I was voted class clown of my entire 8th grade class. I struggled from that point forward. Had it not been for the mercy, (or lack of concern, not sure which at this point…just know I’m grateful), of my senior class teachers “giving me grades I needed”, I wouldn’t have passed my senior year and graduated high school.  That’s when I knew if I was going to survive I was going to have to create a customized solution for success that worked for me!

Now more than 2 decades later, with both an undergraduate degree in Business Management and an MBA with a speciality in Marketing; I have become an expert at creating customized, operational solutions.  For 18 years I was blessed to work with and lead operational teams for major fortune 100 companies implementing customized solutions.  In the last four years of my tenure, solutions I lead generated multiple 7 figure profits for the companies I served. Additionally, I got to teach collegiately, (marketing, business and ethics courses) where I learned a great deal about different learning styles and how to maximize strategies based on individual learning characteristics.  Then as is so often the case, life rendered a new challenge and once again it was all good until it wasn’t.  

In 2001 my husband was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. As the issues associated with his condition got worse, I wanted and needed to be at home, so I began creating yet another strategy.  This time for the person who wanted and needed the same freedoms I needed; the ability to earn a minimum six figure income, flexible hours and the ability to work from remote locations.  

During the last 5 years, I’ve been doing just that! Now, I teach other aspiring freelancers how use their existing skill set or learn new, in demand skills and customize a service they can provide companies looking for help. My goal is to show people how to go full-time by building a real, sustainable freelance business and begin living a life they love!
